In the movie Beyonce plays a strong woman who along with two friends desire to be famous singers. They get a record deal and the movie shows everything they went through included this song.

The lyrics to the song listen mean alot to me. They show me that I have a voice, and even if people don't hear me right or don't let me have a say then it's my choice to sit there or to make a voice for myself and not follow everyone else.

"I'm more then what you made of me, I followed the voice you gave to me." This part in the song made me think about all the people to give themselves credit for other people's achievments. It made me think alot about when I would do something and a friend or someone whould say "Oh yeah! I helped her do that, or yeah i did this all by myself", when it had really been me all along.
