The Flu

so lately the flu has been going around.
first it hits my younger sister and then my bestfriend.. although I feel like she got the worst end of it.
She was hospitalized with mono, influenza (the flu), and pnumonia. She just got out the other day after being in ICU for 4 days and a regular room for 3. I myself being a good friend went to go and visit her a couple of times and since I am also quite the rebel I decided that no germ could harm me and I went in without a facemask that the nurses kindly ask you to wear upon going into the hospital room.

I quickly realized that I should listen to them next time, since they are certified in their jobs and they do know what is best for patients they attend to. It all started at school yesterday, with a headach... I shrugged it off.. I even went for a swim in the school's pool. It was when I got home afterwards that it was becoming more apparent. I work at a local restaurant. My job is Ally Coordinator which means that I dress the food or "make it look pretty", as I like to say. I had to close lastnight which meant working a 5-6 hour shift right afterschool. The flu started progressing.. and I threw up. I was home by 9 p.m. instead of my usual 10-10:30 on nights I close. I went straight to bed.

This morning I wake up and we have a 2 hour delay.. Guess who still had to go to school and feels like complete and total crap!... THIS GIRL RIGHT HERE... thanks to my wonderful parents. "Mary, it's only 4 hours of school you can make it", they say... right.. okayy good joke.. I might not be running a fever. But I am pretty sure if I was my brother or sister.. I would be HOME right now instead of writing this blog.

My symptoms so you all can feel my pain: Head is on FIRE (no fever though), Stomach feels like its turning over and over again, Im dizzy, I'm on the verge of balling my eyes out because I feel like SHIT (excuse my french) but that's how I feel. There aren't many days that I don't feel good. Usually I can make it through on some advil if I have a headach.. Today is different and my parents are about to find that out real quick.
